23 - THE HEART TEST

1 Thessalonians 2:4a

4 On the contrary, we speak as those approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel. We are not trying to please people but God, who tests our hearts. 

What an awesome responsibility we have as people nabbed by God, then placed in our particular spot in life and entrusted with the best news anyone could ever want to hear! He chooses, appoints and equips us to reach out to the world – wherever we find ourselves. His chosen method is to let the world see Him, to get to know Him and ultimately accept Him through our authentic lives – through the way we live and what we say.

And we are ultimately answerable only to Him. It takes enormous courage sometimes to stand up for the truth, the right…for morally and ethically correct standards of excellence – in business or in life in general. We don’t do this for the praise and approval of people primarily….we stand for God…not out of duty or obligation, but out of gratitude and appreciation for finding us and investing His life in us. His opinion is really the only one that matters and we need to walk before Him with a clear conscience and let the rest of the chips fall where they may. This is of course easier said than done.

PRAYER ACTION

Thank you Lord for laying your Hand on me, for drawing me to Yourself, for calling my name in that special way you did - and for calling me out of the world to be part of the bigger, eternal thing you are doing! By your grace, I will speak with my mouth and my life as someone entrusted with the truth of the Best News anyone can ever hear.
