14 - OUR LIFE IS THE MESSAGE

1 Thessalonians 1v8a

 8 The Lord's message rang out from you not only in Macedonia and Achaia - your faith in God has become known everywhere.

The Lord's fundamental message is that He proactively reaches out to, finds, rescues and transforms us - the whole of us - for free.  It is a message of undeserved mercy and grace, unconditional acceptance and an investing in and an equipping of us to change the world around us.  It starts with the Lord and ends with the Lord.  It's His work, His show.

But He chooses to do it to us, then through us to others, to the world.  What an amazing thing to hear that the love and kindness, the acceptance and the commitment He has made in us and we have made to and in others is known well beyond our immediate circle of influence. The Lord's message 'sounded forth and spread out' from the lives of these followers ('like the sound of a trumpet blast from a central location and rippling outwards' - Gr.).

One of our goals as managers and leaders must surely be that our personal, inner faith is demonstrated in our lives in such a way that those we 'touch' on a daily basis take 'our message' to others.  'It's a great place to work!', is heard most often because of great bosses who people work for.  People don’t leave organizations…they leave managers. 

PRAYER ACTION

Lord, if it's true that people more often leave managers than they leave organizations, then please shine your light on anything I do or say, or don't do or don't say, that dishonors you and hinders others in their work and prevents me from being effective in your service. I want my life to sound out a message that honors you.
